No. The Big Green Egg is an outdoor appliance. To avoid any risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, it must never be used in an enclosed space (except in professional kitchens equipped with specific extraction systems).

We recommend Big Green Egg 100% natural charcoal (Oak or Hickory). It ensures a quick temperature rise, a clean burn, and very little ash.

Never use charcoal briquettes, treated wood, or chemical lighter fluids. These products permeate the porous ceramic and will permanently alter the taste of your dishes.

Use 3 natural firelighters (cubes or nests). Leave the vents and the dome open for 10-12 minutes, then close the dome to regulate the temperature.
