The Tel-Tru dome thermometer is your reference point for all your cooking. Over time and due to thermal shock, it may drift by a few degrees. Check it once per season, or whenever a cook doesn't go as expected.
- Remove the thermometer from the dome while the EGG is cold.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil.
- Insert the thermometer stem into the water, without touching the bottom of the pot.
- Wait one minute: the needle should read 100°C (212°F).
- If it does not, turn the nut located under the dial with an 11 mm (7/16 inch) wrench until the needle reads 100°C (212°F).
- Let it cool, then put the thermometer back in place on the dome.
